"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week in 2013." via Che and Fidel

School Holiday Edition
All: You have all been up to some kind of mischief in one way or another - I put it down to the fact you have been indoors more than you would prefer. I don't know why I paid someone to demolish bits of our house when I could have just popped you over the fence and let you guys loose. You would have had the place stripped down in no time at all. You even managed to break our neighbour's letterbox (which is now sitting on the front stairs.)

  1. Hi Caroline,
I can't tell you how much I love your /52. I really look forward to those posts. Your photos are beautiful and you seem to capture the essence of your gorgeous children. I feel as if I know them. just a bit.
Normally, if I'm reading a housey blog, I just want to read about the house - I want to see the kitchen or the floorboards or the new roof or learn about the history of the house or the architect or how it's decorated or the garden......... So well done for just the right amount of information about your lovely boys. Don't stop!

    1. Owww - thanks. Your comments are so kind. Initially this little blog was devised purely as a way to journal our renovation experience. Since starting the /52 project (and a rather lengthy delay in starting the reno) more and more photos of the kids have somehow crept in. xx

  2. That third photo is so cute...those boys and their smiles...and their mischief...I notice Harry has his finger in Charlie's ear!
And I am glad that Oscar still has his curls!

    1. My mind boggles at the things those two get up to! Mark has nicknamed them "the breaker bros." xx

  4. Third photo down is so sweet! I am as pleased as anything that Oscar's curls are still there. How on earth did they break the letterbox? Good luck for the next week of school holidays, hopefully we get a break in the rain.

  5. I love the second last one of your kiddos together - so sweet and smiley!

I stumbled across your blog from the 52 project, I'm really interested to see how your cottage progresses - I'm a Brissie girl myself! (although now living in California). My husband and I LOVE West End - what I would give to be able to pop back there now for brunch at the Gun Shop Cafe :)

Looking forward to reading more in this space!

    1. We love it here too (but SF is pretty cool as well.) After living in West End for so long, I have only been to the Gun Shop once - taking four smalls kind of wrecks the experience of a nice, relaxing brunch. xx

  7. you can see the mischief in the eyes in the third shot, oh my! personally, i have a love-hate relationship with the mischief stage (which we're only now just entering). my kid giggles like a mad person when she's up to no good (which is adorable, i mean, how could a mother not love her child's laugh), but when she's throwing all the folded laundry down or taking all the blankets, and i can't keep a straight, disapproving face, well, discipline goes out the window.

  8. The interaction between your boys is delightful. Here they look so innocent, yes cheeky, but so sweet.
